A signal is associated with a measurement, which itself carries information representative of the phenomenon to be studied. The challenge of signal processing is to reveal this "useful" information in an experimental or measurement environment that is often contaminated by undesirable effects known as noise. Advances in digital signal processing algorithms and computer technology have combined to produce processing systems with functionalities far beyond those of just a few years ago.
The laboratory offers PhD students the opportunity to work on signal processing topics, thanks to its computing center equipped with the latest powerful computing tools.
